This is a copying painting book of Mogao Caves. In ancient times, Dunhuang was the center of trade along the Silk Road. The historical city is famous for the Mogao Caves. The author is a researcher of Dunhuang's research institute and he has lived in Dunhuang for 40 years. This book is his paintings of Mogao Caves. The target audience is mural painting professionals and fans.
This is a hand-made book with custom-made bamboo paper. The papers were teared into small pieces and pasted on the book covers. So every book has a unique look as a result of this random tearing of paper. For the layout of the book, we made different fragments in each page to restore the features of Mogao Caves as much as we can. It seems like an old and broken book. The book expresses the historical feeling of Mogao Caves and shows special beauty. The production of this handmade book not only enhances the non-reproducibility of each book, but also highlights the experience of the book itself.
本书是敦煌壁画中舞蹈声乐部分的临摹本，设计上希望在书籍呈现、作品本身与敦煌之间找到壹种原始的联系和平衡，尽可能的还原出敦煌的时代感与沧桑感。
整书大部分都是手工完成，封面选用了特别定制的毛边纸，采用手工装裱拼贴效果。在内页的设计上，所有的画稿都根据需要设计了不同的残卷效果。呈现出有年代感的凄美，与绚丽摹本的华美形成强烈对比。看上去是残破不堪，但实质是挖掘表现出了特质的美感。同时，这本手工书的制作不仅增强了每本书的不可复制性，更加突出书籍本身的体验感。
